HB Youth is a new service for young people across Greater Manchester.
We work with young people, youth groups, schools and parents and carers to support young people to thrive through challenge, creativity and skill building.
Helen Boxall
Founder & Director
Meet the team
Helen brings over a decade of experience working with young people across a wide range of settings, including schools, youth clubs, local authorities, and alternative provisions. Her work spans Greater Manchester and beyond, supporting young people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
She has worked extensively with young offenders, neurodiverse and SEND young people, asylum seekers, and others navigating complex challenges — always with compassion, commitment, and a deep understanding of their individual needs.
Helen’s approach is grounded in creating inclusive, supportive environments where every young person can feel seen, valued, and empowered to grow.
Kathryn Segesser
Director
Kathryn is a creative executor and strategic partner with a passion for leading cross-functional collaborations that build effective, values-driven partnerships. With leadership experience across education, charities, and start-ups, she brings a collaborative approach rooted in mutual support and collective growth.She has a proven track record of leveraging international partnerships to drive business and systems development, with a unique strength in bridging strategy and implementation. Kathryn’s global experience and intercultural insight are central to her work, shaped by living and working across multiple countries.Certified as a Life Coach and trained through a research-intensive PhD, Kathryn is also a natural mentor and coach, committed to helping individuals and teams unlock their potential for success.
Hannah Waterhouse
Director & Social Media safeguarding officer
Hannah brings a rich and varied background in education, youth work, and mental health. Originally training as a teacher, she went on to work in local authority youth services before deepening her expertise with a Master’s in Psychology. Her passion for supporting young people’s wellbeing has led her to roles across clinical, educational, and community settings.
She has worked at Manchester Children’s Hospital in the cleft lip and palate department, gaining invaluable experience in child development and family support. Hannah has also spent summers in Oxford working with young people from around the world, building inclusive spaces that celebrate diversity and personal growth.
Outside of work, you’ll find her on the ice — she’s a keen ice hockey player and captain of Manchester Women’s team. She brings the same energy, teamwork, and resilience to everything she does.
